CommBi Co-op Training and Facilitation

CommBi Co-op Training and Facilitation was a Community Cultural Development skills exchange project. SpeakOut facilitated Community Cultural Development training and planning sessions and co-facilitated the Big Day Event with 11 CommBi Co-op project workers for 105 Acacia Ridge SS students.

SpeakOut’s involvement added value to CommBi Co-op’s Y-WAVE project, which was about building resilience around bullying, developing self-awareness and strengthening emotional intelligence in young people through providing opportunities for creating self-expression. During the Big Day Event, which was the culmination of CommBi Co-op’s broader project, CommBi Co-op project workers showcased their workshop facilitation skills in songwriting / song production and hero character making (felt toys).

The song ‘I am who I am’ that was written and performed by students will be sent to a school for blind children in Vietnam, along with student’s hero characters.
