Digital Threads

Digital Threads was a tailored workshop program for young Aboriginal and Torres Islander people exploring pathways into the creative industries.

The program consisted of two stages:

1. An outreach program held in four locations across Brisbane - Acacia Ridge, Fortitude Valley, Keperra and Wynnum. The focus was music and song creation using computer based software.
2. Participants then came in to SpeakOut and created their own digital stories. These digital stories were then produced on DVD.

Throughout these workshops young people learnt creative skills in music and song creation, photography, storytelling and video editing.

SpeakOut would like to acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Independent School, Brisbane Youth Service, Picabeen Community Centre and Winnam, for their support and enthusiasm throughout the Digital Threads program.
