Australia's longest running Charity Dinner to support SpeakOut

The Xavier Foundation has announced that the beneficiary of the 49th Annual Xavier Dinner will be SpeakOut.

Founded by the late Tim McCarthy, Xavier is reputedly Australia’s longest running Charity Dinner (circa 1959) and has donated over $1.2 million to a large number of charities.

The Xavier Organising Committee is completely volunteer based and has always remained committed to supporting smaller charitable organisations that do significant work but often go unnoticed by larger philanthropic bodies.

Hosted by Marie Louise Thiele, the theme for this year's dinner is "Celebrating Brisbane's Brightest Young Women" and will include guest speakers Ingrid Richards (Architect), Madeleine Kelly (Artist) and Linda Hey (SpeakOut Graduate and Medical Student).

Revenue raised from this year’s event will be going directly to "Stylin UP Regional” - ongoing work in Indigenous communities with young people, and the “SpeakOut Traineeship” - career development and employment program for disadvantage young people.

The 49th Annual Xavier Dinner will be held at the Gallery of Modern Art on Thursday 28 August and commences at 6.30pm.

Tickets are $350 per head and reservations can be made by contacting Marisa Lotze:
