Creative Pathways in the Central West
Creative Pathways in the Central West supports young people and their communities to access and develop creative skills and pathways, diversifying from traditional rural engagement towards creative and knowledge-based industries and technologies.
The initiative aims to enhance the cultural and economic viability of the Central West Queensland region.

Phase One delivery – Skills Development, Mapping and Showcasing - has been completed through '22'.
Following successful delivery of '22', Creative Pathways in the Central West is transitioning into Phase Two – Skills exchange, Mentoring and Creative Enterprise Hub.
'22' will also continue as part of Phase Two, with a new program intake.
22
'22' is a creative skills development program for young people (14 years and over) who want to develop skills in:
- Visual art
- Illustration
- Photography
- Film and video
- Graphic design
- Digital media
- Music production
- Multimedia software
- Arts business training
- Industry development and mapping
- Project management and delivery
Participants in 22 have the opportunity to:
- Work with experienced industry professionals
- Develop skills through creative industries based training
- Identify and create career opportunities and pathways
- Meet other young people with similar interests
- Create a project that means something to you
- Showcase your project in your community and to the wider
- region
Creative Enterprise Hub
Phase Two will scope and develop a program that supports new and emerging creative entrepreneurs through skills exchange and development, mentoring, and resourcing.
Program components:
- IDEAS – period of experimentation and exploration for young people passionate about developing creative enterprises.
- EXCHANGE – skills exchange between graduates of ‘22’ and more established, traditional arts practitioners in the community.
- INCUBATE - support for enterprise ideas offering learning, mentoring and funding pathways.
- PROMOTE – supporting creative entrepreneurs to launch products and services and develop market access.
